Jim Faist has joined Schafer as the Vice President and General Manager for Military Aerospace. He will reside at Schafer’s Corporate Headquarters in Arlington, VA and will be responsible for Schafer’s aerospace-related work for the military and intelligence agencies across the company. His technical expertise is in advanced space systems, military combat aircraft, advanced radar (space, air, ground, subsurface), electronic warfare (EW), air-air and air-ground weapons, communications, systems engineering, and operations.

Prior to joining Schafer, Jim was the Director of Radar Systems at Trident Systems responsible for developing and executing the corporate business plan for advanced software defined multi-function RF payloads (SAR/GMTI radar, SIGINT, and Electronic Warfare) for Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) and small satellite missions for the US government and international UAV and space markets and compressive sensing technology developments.

Prior to Trident, Jim worked at Harris Corporation as the Chief Engineer for a portfolio of NASA programs supporting NASA Vision for Space Exploration. At ENSCO, Inc. Jim was responsible for advanced research and development programs in radar, navigation, optical and sensor signal processing. He also supported DARPA and the Army in advanced radar cross section research at System Planning Corporation. Jim started his career as a Weapon Systems/Electronic Warfare Officer with the United States Air Force. Jim earned his M.S. in EE (Microwave/RF Theory) from Cornell University and his B.S. also in EE from Virginia Military Institute.
