Schafer is pleased to announce the Government Services Sector (GSS) in partnership with Engility, received an award to provide SETA technical support to the Army Research Laboratory Vehicle Technology Directorate (ARL-VTD). This is a three-year firm fixed price effort in which Schafer will provide at least 4 technical support personnel to support mechanics, propulsion technologies, autonomous systems and vehicle analysis missions located at Aberdeen Proving Ground.
The U.S. Army Research Laboratory’s Vehicle Technology Directorate (VTD) is the principal U.S. Army organization responsible for the pursuit of mobility-related science and technologies which lead to advanced capabilities and improved reliability for Army air and ground vehicles. VTD leads the ARL Major Laboratory Program in mobility and the Research, Development and Engineering Command (RDECOM) Technology Focus Team in mobility and logistics. This award allows Schafer to work on technology areas focused on platform, propulsion, intelligent systems and logistics and subsequently expand our presence at Aberdeen Proving Ground. The Mechanical Systems/Test Engineers, Engineering Researchers, and Electrical Design Engineers will be working on various programs conducted by the VTD which may include efforts such as; experimental facility preparation, hardware fabrication, installation and setup, test execution, instrumentation development and use, and maintenance of databases and archival systems.
