Schafer's System Engineering & Integration Division (SEID) supports a broad range of activities, including concept development and evaluation, systems engineering and integration, test and evaluation, technology development and demonstration, information architecture, and information assurance.
Our services have focused on weapon system development and deployment, battle management systems, and range operations. We provide a wide variety of engineering and other services to our Government, prime contractor customers and teammates. Our experience includes support to Missile Defense Agency, US Army, US Air Force, NASA headquarters, and NASA Marshall Space Flight Center. Schafer is a prime contractor for NASA MSFC, and provides technical engineering services and full-spectrum communication support to NASA MSFC's Office of Strategic Analysis and Communication (OSAC). Schafer's 3D Research Corporation (3DRC) operation is a prime contractor for the Army with our AMCOM Express contract vehicle.
Our division also supports an array of internal research and development (IR&D) programs that complement our strategic business pursuits. Our portfolio includes hardware and software prototyping and product development and delivery. Two of our significant product areas are the Mobile Test Node (MTN) and our Robotics and Communication Network products.
Mobile Test Node Development and Operations: We have been leading development of systems that take command and control from the lab to the field for our US Army customers. The primary objective of our mobile platforms is to extend lab-based architectures into a field environment to support test and evaluation, training, data collection, and distribution. Schafer's 3DRC team is fully responsible for the design, fabrication, integration, and delivery of MTN vehicle platforms. These large, deployed systems support large scale, complex test and exercise scenarios, providing simulation and stimulation of multiple program elements.
Robotics and Communication Network Products: Schafer has been a developer of advanced communication networks for NASA and the US Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) robotic systems applications. Our Wireless Communication Mesh (WiCM) network system provides a secure communication system for UGV, UGS, UAS, and UAV applications. Our software and hardware approach provides interoperability for a full suite of robotic system products.
