Advanced Concepts & Technology (ACT) Division

Schafer's Advanced Concepts & Technology (ACT) Division maintains a strong capability in space system design, testing, and operations. Our team has extensive hands-on experience in the analysis, design, fabrication and testing of space systems, subsystems, and components.

This experience coupled with comprehensive space system design and assessment expertise, provides the breadth of knowledge that is critical to accomplish effective space vehicle and launch development. Our division has broad capabilities in the development of optical systems technologies, including corporate IR&D investments in this research. Our capabilities range from concept development and requirements definition through systems analysis, trade studies, optical engineering, lens design, materials, fabrication, testing, and coatings.

Schafer is leading the development and analysis of new space concepts and systems through the modeling, simulation, and visualization of space assets. Our ACT division has created and maintains state-of-the-art modeling and simulation packages to support multiple customers' diverse programs.
