Dr. Ullrich currently serves as Schafer's Chief Technology Officer responsible for promoting our reputation for technical excellence and applied innovation across industry and our client base. He maintains a leading role in developing new business pursuits and overseeing Schafer's IR&D efforts, and is our lead advocate for prioritization and review of IR&D programs.
Prior to joining Schafer, Dr. Ullrich served as SAIC's Senior Vice President for Advanced Technology Programs, where he focused on developing nuclear detection and interdiction concepts and methodologies. Dr. Ullrich was a key participant on a number of corporate cross-cutting technology initiatives to develop competitive strategies and advanced concepts in countering IEDs, homeland security, disruptive technologies, and combating weapons of mass destruction.
Dr. Ullrich has over 40 years of experience in technical leadership, policy guidance, and management oversight of programs spanning air, sea, and ground platforms; conventional weapons; directed energy weapons; advanced payloads and materials; and nuclear weapons technologies. He has served as the Director for Weapons Systems in the Office of the DDR&E, Deputy Director of the Defense Nuclear Agency, and Senior Advisor for S&T at DTRA.
Dr. Ullrich holds a Ph.D, Master of Science degree, and Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Drexel University.
