Not all the men and women who serve in our military are able to return unscathed. As they arrive to hospitals and treatment centers they are provided with your typical hospital garment and nothing else. To help make their stay a little more comfortable, the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP), in conjunction with Under Armour, started an initiative in which, with the support of donations, they provide a WWP care backpack. These backpacks are filled with essential care and comfort items such as clothing, toiletries, playing cards, and more – all designed to make a hospital stay more comfortable.
As Schafer supports many DoD and Government initiatives, many of which may support the armed forces, we wanted to help support this great cause. Schafer raised $5,800 which was able to supply 60 of backpacks. We can never thank the men and women of the armed services enough for the sacrifices they make every day in support of our freedoms.
We encourage you to learn more about this effort and contribute yourself by visiting http://www.underarmour.com/shop/us/en/freedom or contacting an Under Armour representative. Big or small, every donation goes a long way.
