47 mg/cc polystyrene foam cylindersLightweight polystyrene foams have various applications. Schafer makes these foams by emulsion polymerization with a density range of 15-700 mg/cc and pore size of 1-10 microns. The foam can be machined or molded into various shapes. Schafer routinely fabricates cylinders, spheres, hemisphere shells, annuli etc. for inertial confinement fusion targets using molds or precision machining. These foams can also be doped with halogens, physical dispersions or embedded objects, as needed.
