Dear Rett,
On behalf of the Space Control Division, please pass along my personal thanks to Ms. Linda Crawford for the outstanding leadership, organizational skills and technical expertise she provided to the Small Aperture Telescope Augmentation study. Linda played a central role in the success of the study by being the technical coordinator of a test that involved a number of diverse geographically distributed organizations. Orchestrating the actions and integrating data from the three separate organizations from two different commands was monumental task.
This test was executed on a limited budget and tight schedule. Linda developed the campaign plan, conducted a weekly telecon to ensure milestones were met and maintained an effective team that accomplished the program goals. In addition, she completed the technical evaluation of the performance of the small telescope system in tracking satellites with varying orbits and apparent visual magnitudes.
Linda also encouraged the submittal of a technical paper to the 2000 Space Control Conference, and once accepted, developed the paper and presented the briefing. Finally, Linda ensured that the SATA Test Results Final Report was a comprehensive technical record of the test.
Linda's efforts to keep the team and test going, find innovative ways to resolve issues and willingness to go the extra mile to get the job done, deserves recognition. Please convey to Linda my appreciation of her excellent performance.
