Goodman (Bill) who did an outstanding job of assessing the possible effects of the "green haze" phenomena associated with LAMP mirror coating. Prior to his investigations, we were very concerned because we had little insight into not only what the long term effects might be; but also only a few thoughts as to what were the actual causes. Bill did an excellent job in understanding our concerns and converting them into a set of tasks that would address them. Because of his technical expertise and his initiative and dedication, each of the issues were subsequently addressed to a successful closure. This effort, with the resultant conclusions reached by Bill, not only determined the major causes of the phenomena; but also indicated ways to minimize any negative effect they would have on the program. As a result, an issue which could have had us doing "dumb" and expensive things has now been effectively resolved so that its program impacts will be negligible. I am also impressed with the professional manner in which Bill executed the administrative functions relating to cost and schedule and his excellent communication style which kept us fully informed on the progress of the effort.
