Dear Mr. Haber,
I wish to personally offer my congratulations to your Alpha-LAMP Intergration (ALI) team. The completion of the ALI test series is a watershed event in the nation's space based laser (SBL) program and represents the culmination of years of intense effort. Please extend my thanks to each of the key personnel on the attached page [listed below] and to all of the individuals who contributed to the success of this program. These individuals performed outstandingly in the difficult dual roles of traditional government SETA as well as "hands on" hardware integrators. They demonstrated not only their technical expertise and personal dedication, but also integrity and self-sacrifice of the highest order, and set a shining example of how a "badgeless" team should operate. I would also like to thank their families for their support and sacrifice over the last five years.
The completion of these ALI tests truly represents extraordinary technical achievement in the SBL program. It provides real technological advances for the nation's future strategic defense capability. It is well deserving of being lauded as an example of teamwork and innovative, streamlined program execution.
